BOOST Sale tomorrow!!!

ENJOY!!!

New Products!

Hi there,

My sweet mom, the other half of this BLOG and our TpT store, spent 4 hours setting up the furniture in my classroom today.

She retired in June, and now has time to take a deep breath and help ME in August!!!

She is the brains with 40 years of ideas swimming her head, while I try to handle the technology aspect of TpT and blogging. I am hoping to teach her how to join us on the blog very soon...

OK! I put up 2 more products on TpT last night:

I am really excited about Mix a Pancake. I put in several lessons for the 1st grade poem, that is on the 1st Grade CCSS list. I have never even read this poem, before creating this product! Can't wait to teach in the fall to my first grade kiddos! The lesson plans are all Common Core aligned...strategies I learned at the I Teach 1st conference!

Number bonds are everywhere! Once again, I have never used the term in my classroom. However, they are related to Fact Families, so at least I do not feel totally lost. I created this lesson to help give a simple explanation and independent practice for kiddos to get the gist of number bonds.

Enjoy!
Carrie

Educreations

Have you ever used Educreations? It is my NEW find!!! I took a session on Top iPad Apps at the I Teach 1st! conference this summer.

Here is my lesson...

I have been playing around with it, and had my 7-year old create a geometric shape presentation. Click it to watch!

Finding Balance

Yesterday, my parents picked up my kids to take them overnight. So I dragged my husband over to Lakeshore, Michaels, and Target to gather supplies for my classroom. Then we snuck in a movie, dinner, and a Redbox movie.

Nothing like trying to balance work and home!!!

Schedule

Yesterday, I stopped in my classroom, took a couple of photos (see previous blog post) and sat at my desk for a few minutes.

Today I spent 5 hours. I didn't take any photos, because to be honest, it doesn't look like much has changed! I know I did things, but I also know that when I go in next week, I might still be a little overwhelmed...

So, I came home and put together my weekly schedule. My "specials" schedule got changed a lot, so I wanted to make some effective changes to make the most out of our learning time.

I tried to link up the PowerPoint version, so you could have it to edit for yourself, but I could not figure it out. Make a comment if you would like me to send it directly to you!

Good luck creating your own!
Carrie

My classroom

I got back into my classroom for the first time this summer. I was ready. I took a deep breath and walked in...

Not bad! The classroom was clean, so now I can think about where I want everything to go.

Back from Vacation

Our family has been gone for almost 2 weeks straight. It was a wonderful week in Catalina with my parents - our 35th in a row! Home for a day, then on to Phoenix with my husband's family. Lots of time in the car - and what was I thinking about??? SCHOOL!

I feel blessed to love what I do.

I am working on a couple of mini-units right now. One to get through the first few days of school, and a unit on Christina Rosseti's poem: Mix a Pancake.

Stay tuned!
